My name is Katri. I live in Southern Finland in the same city I was born in. I study French, which I'd like to speak more fluently.

I've often been described as a shy, silent person. I think it's funny because I often feel that I prattle too much or ask too intrusive questions when there are other people around.
        For me talking is a way of hiding awkwardness and hopefully appearing less icy. I'm not too sure that it works well, since I'm clumsy with words. However, saying things aloud has helped me  to find out more about the people I've met and sometimes question my own ideas. I think it's worth the effort. 

I'm generally interested in getting to know different people and their way of thinking. However, I don't think I make close friends easily, since I'm afraid of conflicts. I don't think I'm very caring, either. When I feel down and I associate it with my relationship with a certain person, I might start backing off simply because it feels easier than being persistent despite all.
    I like people to be frank with me, because having to read between lines can lead you to wrong tracks. This doesn't mean that honesty is easy for me.   

I'm in a relationship with someone I like a lot. So, if you're looking for a romance and come knocking on my door, you're at a wrong place. What I'm interested in is getting to know people. And possibly friendship after that.

For now, I'm not looking for MSN, Skype or chat friends because I only use them occasionally these days.

I'm mostly into snail mail.  I'm prepared to write letters every few weeks or months.
      Write as you like. If you feel you can be honest and open in your letters, I'll be very happy. If not, I hope you won't keep on writing only because you feel obliged to.   

I've the bad habit of checking my mails rarely and answering them late. It's a bad excuse for laziness, but I think it's good to mention it beforehand since it's something I keep faling into. 
       So, if you will not hear from me during the same week you have contacted me, it doesn't mean that I despise you or that I have forgotten you altogether. I may not have been on  Internet for a while, or I might be still thinking about what to answer. Or simply waiting for the "better occasion" or "better ideas" for writing, which never come.

I like being outdoors. I like to walk and to cycle in different places and occasionally stop to look around.

I sometimes sing, paint or scribble down my thoughts about what I've seen or experienced.

I read quite a lot. Novels, poetry, books on psychology or philosophy.
   I'm interested in learning about different cultures and languages.

I like trees.
I like rain.
I like twilight and cool evenings.
I like tea.
I like colours.
I like cooking and doing other household work. Seasoning food and trying new combinations of flavour is one of my favourite things at home.

Umm... Miscallaneous. I like many folk songs as well as rock, pop and symphonic metal bands.

It's often hard to say what appeals in a particular piece of music. It can be memorable lyrics, a lovely tune or some nice instruments played on the background.
