At least Japanese has not too difficult pronunciation. I think for Russians Japanese phonetics is not very difficult ^^ And Thai language has 5 (right?) tones!!! Chinese has only 4 (I am talking about Mandarin Chinese)! :)) Chinese language doesn't have alphabet, actually ^^; They have pinyin - the system which helps you to write down the sounds of hieroglyph :)) But probably it is what you wanted to say :))) And I can tell you that hieroglyphs have meaning and even I can understand the meaning of hieroglyph, even if I don't know its pronunciation hehehe

I know ;)) My best friend went to Thailand this summer. She stayed astonished with the level of service and friendliness of people there. So, I still think that Thai is very interesting country (but not my favorite hehe).
I have read article about Thai language. Wow, it is very difficult! I think more difficult than Chinese!!!
