Self taught also. I learned my first song on an electric years after I got my acoustic but I went back to the acoustic :-P

Yeah, much easier for me than carrying around my mini amp lol. I have an acousticelectric which I plug into what ever system is present but it's sometimes easier to mic the guitar. Did you learn (or self teach yourself) on acoustic?

Lol I have two acoustic (A Fender & Jasmine) and one electric fender but I mostly play acoustic =) How long have you been playing?
