⏱ The Clock, attached to a belfry and a fountain, was installed with its mechanism in 1389. Covered with gold leaf, it has only one needle with a lamb. The mechanism is not behind the clock… but in the tower.
The omnipresence of the lamb 🐑 is ambiguous and offers a double symbolism : referring to the Easter lamb accompanied by a cross while the belfry is intended to be civil, it also refers to the symbol of the city and its past with the textile industry.
