Hello there! My name is Daniel! Thanks for taking the time to read my profile! I appreciate it. I'm currently in college as a freshman, which feels weird as I haven't been in school since I graduated high school back in 2017, but I'm slowly getting used to it.

I haven't been on here for a long time, but I thought it'd be a good time to try to get a pen pal again so that I can learn more about others and practice my Japanese. My reading/writing skills are definitely my weakest skills in Japanese, so please keep that in mind! I'm not the best teacher, but if you would like to practice your English and receive some feedback from a native speaker I would be more than willing to help with that!

I realize that it's difficult to make conversation a lot of the time, especially if you're talking to a stranger, so I would love to hear about things you are passionate about. I know I feel better about a conversation with a stranger or new friend when I'm able to talk about my passions and hobbies freely with someone willing to listen, so I will gladly try my best to listen to you with whatever you'd like to talk about!

I definitely want to keep practicing my Japanese as much as I can. I don't want to forget any more than I already have, as I haven't properly studied in a couple years.

My hobbies, huh? I think I would say that my hobbies are rollerblading, listening to and singing music, and reading. Out of all of those, though, rollerblading when paired with listening to/singing music is definitely my favorite thing to do. It just feels so free to skate around to the sound of a wonderful song.

Currently my favorite bands/artists are KIRINJI, humbert humbert, 青葉市子, neveryoungbeach, and mei ehara. They're all amazing artists in their own ways each with a different feel to enjoy at different times, whenever a mood strikes. Outside of these specific artists, I would say my overall favorite genre of music would be jazz.

At this point my favorite movie has changed to be "Blue Giant", based off the award-winning manga of the same title. What an absolutely amazing film I got to see earlier this year. A musical score to blast your ears into heaven, incredible visuals to visualize the music, and a wonderful story to go alongside it all. Just incredible.

Currently my favorite show would be 無職転生. It has everything I want to see in a show: wonderful animation, incredibly well-fitting music, a great story, insanely well-written characters, and absolutely stellar world building. I couldn't ask for more.

My favorite books are quite a few, but I would say that among the novels that I have read, the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan as well as Brandon Sanderson's collection of books in his Cosmere are particularly enjoyable. Other notable mentions in the realm of novels would be The Martian by Andy Weir and the Pathfinder trilogy by Orson Scott Card.

On the side of comics, I would say that my favorite would absolutely be「 町田君の世界」. It would be followed closely by the Korean webcomics "The Boxer" and "The Horizon", both by the same author. All three of these comics have a very special place in my heart, for sure.
