Interestingly, the US Shameless had an appreciably different tone than the UK one. The former seemed to ever draw on a conception of US life concerning when one is down on one's heels and luckless, whereas the British one, whilst not altogether dissimilar, had greater sureality about it. Yours was harder, mine was sillier! (Which sets me up nicely to say...) Kinda like your brilliant hardcore music tastes, against my mere paltry punkrock proclivities. We shall never be the same, us Brits and Americans, but we do parallel so well!
