I've heard about 3 version:
1. He's not and it's all fake organised by Mysroft/John/Sherlock himself just to let hin stay in England
2. He faked his death - dry shot and bursting package of blood in his hair or something
3. It's not Moriarty, it's his twin brother! Some people have done some reasearch and figured out that in different scenes Moriarty was righty and in others - lefty and more strange inconsistencies
