My city Tomsk is famous as "Siberian Athens". It's city of students. Every 5th is a student. So, it's also "brain" of Siberia :D
No, I have never been in Japan, but I hope I visit it in future. I read some books about Japan. For example "A Branch of Sakura" by Vsevolod Ovchinnikov. It's Russian orientalist. The book talks about Japan people, culture and traditions.
