Enoshima is in Kanagawa Prefecture. It's not far from here, but it's not close either. It's possible to go there for a day trip :)
The cpap helps me get a better kind of sleep and thank you for your reply.
Thank you! I also hope you are well with the Machine of SAS.
Thankyou for your birthday greeting, I seem to remember Kurosawa directed Toshiro Mifune films and I remember the Togetsu bridge in Kyoto was used in a number of films.
I hope you are well.
I changed my profile picture to one of me and a statue of Hachiko outside Shibuya station in Tokyo.

Eskimos do a similar thing where people who are no longer able to do any useful work just go out into the cold to die.
Is this 1983 film version different to the one done in 1958.
Thankyou for your words on my birthday.

I'll look into some more NHK programs and let me introduce you to some movies in order of preference, if you might like.
Tokyo Monogatari : Tokyo Story in 1953 by Oz Yasujiro.
Ugetsu story : Tales of Moonlight and Rain in 1776 by Kenji Mizoguchi. Awarded by “Leone d'Oro” in Venice.
Kagemusha : body double made in 1980 by Akira Kurosawa.
Okuribito : The undertaker in 2008.
Narayama Bushiko : The Balled of Narayama in 1983 at Festival International du Film de Cannes in France.

I have 5or 6 films with Toshiro Mifune, they are fairly old, I have not seen Close-up or Passionate people but I did see a very interesting program about the making of dashiin Kore Kyoto. The present Sumo tournament in Fukuoka is live but in Japanese but sometimes shown live in English.
When I was in Japan on the Oigawa railway o0n the steam train to Sensu there was an old lady singing folk songs I liked

I first saw NHK 10 years ago when I was visiting Cairo unfortunately I did not see the mummies in the museum there. It was the year after the 2011 sunami and last year was the 10th anniversary with plenty of flashbacks, one program on NHK was called the phone on the wind where people talk to lost relatives which was so sad, the phone was not actually connected. I have 5 dvd, s of Toshiro Mifune.
I wont say too much now but just to say I am most glad that you have replied only to say I will visit that park near Mito station when next I visit and I will check NHK progs for those programs.

Thank you for your comment on my Wall 3 days ago. I looked up NHK programs if you may be interested in. I recommend a few.
Today's Close-up is broadcasted on weekday that you can know what is happening in current Japan..
Another one is Passionate People, a documentary program once a week. It makes people positive. The title music was made by Japanese violinist Taro Hakase.
If you like, I'll check up more. For example, the masterpieces of old movies and so on.
Have a wonderful day.
Well-2525
