I like to be open with everyone so, here it goes:
I used to be an 'escort'. I quit September last year and haven't looked back.
I went into it because the money (to pay for college), not for sex. At the beginning it was fine, but as it went on. I started to hate myself. I was in a bad place and I felt like I was being used. Which I was. That was the whole reason people would 'rent' me out. I didn't get the nice looking guys, or even the nice guys. No one took me to dinner. No one remembered my name after. People would call me other names and make me pretend to be someone else. I was a toy. But, i needed the money. So I did it.
I made some friends who would help me out, and I am still in contact with. They still do it and some of them like it. I mean, you can charge your own fees and your own conditions. But still, you are being used in the most intimate way.
Once I got out, I felt so free. I could choose who I slept with. Even though I didn't sleep with anyone for several months afterwards. I didn't feel.....dirty anymore.
I felt (and still feel) disgusted that I had to do that. I now run a workshop called 'For Rent' in Dunblane and Edinburgh helping teenagers who can't find money for college and feel that they have to turn to prostitution.
