The more and more I read posts here, and see all dudes from certain countries making comments full of hatred on women just because ladies don't want them (side note: they have no literal obligation to even want you, grow up man?👀) , I become legit convinced that Polish restrictive approach towards foreigners is the proper way, LOL.

To those, who are learning Polish - you may find that Poles often use totally abstract sayings in conversations. 🤨 It's good to know them, either to relate or just to laugh!

#1 Commonly used saying: Ni z gruszki ni z pietruszki

Literally: Neither from pear, nor from a parsley. (😂)

Similar in English: Out of the blue

Used to express that something happened out of sudden, unexpectedly.

Other similar versions: ni stąd ni zowąd (literally: not from here and not from the side), jak grom z jasnego nieba (literally: like a bolt from the bright sky).

Childhood of a Polish kid in Polish household is full of various traps. You want to grab that ice cream box out of the freezer - there's chopped up parsley or dill inside. You get a bottle of some dark fizzy drink without reading label or no label - it's Kvass and not Coke. You open up the cookie box, boom - sewing kit inside. Mom gives you chopped up apple - surprise, it tastes like onion or sausage. 🤷🏻‍♀️
