Nice to meet you, my name is Han.
Before you ask, yes I'm fluent in Japanese. I am currently based in Paris. I'm doing my utmost to pretend to be an actual adult in this charming chaos.

I lived in Japan until recently, drifting under the neon lights. I  love Kendo. I was writing articles about human rights, and chipping away at a book while living there as well as doing Kendo championships. I also stayed in Korea, almost a decade ago and enjoyed a calm, peaceful day to day life in Noryangjin.

Before that, I worked in European institutions on projects aimed at safeguarding human dignity. Ironically, that job eroded my dignity through overuse of video conferences which could certainly have been replaced with a short email.

I also like Japanese culture ; and was stuck by the near-miraculous efficiency of its convenience stores, which challenge the Louvre itself in its ability to create the feeling of wonder.

はじめまして。ハンと申します。
先に言っておきますが、日本語は自然な会話出来るぐらい話せます。現在はパリを拠点に、この魅力的なカオスの中で「ちゃんとした大人」を装うべく全力を尽くしています。

つい最近まで日本に住み、ネオンの光の下を漂っていました。剣道が大好きです。人権に関する記事を書きながら、本を少しずつ執筆し、さらに剣道の大会にも出場していました。10年ほど前には韓国にも滞在し、ノリャンジンで穏やかで静かな日常を楽しんでいました。

それ以前は、ヨーロッパの各機関で、人間の尊厳を守ることを目的としたプロジェクトに携わっていました。皮肉なことに、その仕事では、短いメールで済むような件をビデオ会議で延々とこなすうちに、私自身の尊厳が少しずつ削られていきました。

また、日本文化も大好きです。特にコンビニのほぼ奇跡的な効率の良さには感動しました。あの驚きを生み出す力は、ルーヴル美術館に匹敵すると本気で思っています。

I claim to speak Japanese “reasonably well,” but recently, Japanese also appears to be evading me "reasonably well".

日本語は「そこそこ話せます」と自称していますが、最近は日本語のほうも「そこそこ」私から逃げていくようです。

Curiosity is my main engine. I also enjoy :
- Kendo : because getting hit on the head repeatedly really does clear your mind.
- Literature and art : I don't understand it, but it feels like I'm doing something constructive.
- Philosophy : advanced overthinking.

I also find a feeling of relief in video games, as a way to look away from existential dread.

I also very much like nature, its serene beauty.

好奇心こそが、私の原動力です。好きなことは：

- 剣道：頭を何度も打たれると、本当に頭の中がスッキリします。
- 文学と芸術：よく分かりませんが、何か有意義なことをしている気がします。
- 哲学：高度な考えすぎの技術です。

また、ビデオゲームにも癒やしを感じます。存在の不安から目をそらす方法として。

そして、自然もとても好きです。その静かな美しさに惹かれます。
