Heya. I'm afraid I only use this and email.
Even though I read a translation it was still one of the most beautifully written books I've read, so I figured you'd appreciate it even more —being able to read it in its original language and all. So I'm happy you enjoyed it. I also recommend A Dark Stranger, and Balcony in the Forest. Balcony in the Forest is based on Gracq's experiences in WW2; it has the same tone of uncertainty, and ends with catastrophe. Whereas A Dark Stranger is one of the stranger books I've read; if you liked the mysterious atmosphere of The Opposing Shore then definitely read A Dark Stranger.
One of the other books of his that I've read is Château d'Argol. But I've only read it once, and that was back when I was a teenager. Although I appreciated the beauty of its language, I struggled to get penetrate it beyond a very surface-level reading. It references the German philosopher Kant rather frequently. If you're familiar with German Idealism then I'd recommend it. But it's one of those books I definitely need to reread now that I'm more knowledgable.

You like Debussy then? :D Do you often listen to classical music? My #1 French piece is Daphnis et Chloé. The below link is the second suite; the full ballet is typically about an hour long.

Recently I've been listening to Alexander Scriabin a lot. Do you know him?

Then you need to escalate to finishing Gracq right now so we can escalate /the/ process even more quickly.
Have you downloaded The Opposing Shore, or have you already bought/[going to buy] it?

Read more Flaubert.
You're right. Interpals is just a romance website, so I'm going to eliminate all superfluous conversation: I'm going to put a baby in your butt someday.
